Who I am

 

I am a garden designer with strong opinions. 

 

Why I do this

 

This blog took root (geddit?) in my mind as a place to address gardening misconceptions based on the poor quality work I have seen from some of my fellow professionals, to help beginners and clients to understand not just what to do in the garden, but why to do it. I believe that knowing why we should do something is the key to remembering it, and getting it right.

 I also wanted to combat the idea that gardening is an unskilled job that anyone with their own trowel can charge for. Sadly there are a lot of these people around wasting the time and money of their clients (and driving me crazy into the bargain) and I wanted to help people to employ someone who will do a good job.

However. As someone with strong opinions on a wide range of subjects and no impressionable young minds to brainwash, I needed an outlet, and one blog is more than enough for a lazy person, so it has become more angry person than angry gardener.

What I can do for you

 

Not much really. You might occasionally pick up a priceless gardening tip, but I use a lot of words. You're more likely to stop halfway through and go to watch the football.
